Right,

Given all the problems I have encountered, I decided to make a fresh restore to the phone, latest firmware.

I have then tried to activate using this method: http://iphone.simbunch.com/turbosim.php

However, when I use iActivator, and then try to use the .plist that I have generated to activate, it says Activation Failure then gives a code ("Activation failure with code -402653165"). I think this is the essence of the other problems I have been having. What do I do? Help please. I have been doing this for hours and hours and am stuck.

I appear to be able to activate it with Anderson's a.plist, but then I do notice later on in other applications that my status is not "activated" but "mismatched ICCID".
