Hard to insert. Hard to remove.
Turning ON 3G Switch causes CallOut and SMSOut to fail.
Turning Off 3G Switch causes phone functions to work again.
Did you set the APN before testing any data services?

Yup. Proper APN settings were inputed. The 3G/EDGE/GPRS logo just isn't there. (see image below)

In fairness to the makers of GeveySIM, I'm using it for calls and text on my iPhone 3G and it works great for those. More than 24hours already and still no loss of signal strength.

Have you tried to turn "Data Roaming" on?

Seems strange to me... Logically, if you can use your phones other functions, it is registering the sim on the network correctly, and all services should be available... I dont really know much about sim adapters, but I can't think of any logical reason why it would stop you from using data services.... Try enabling data roaming...

Also if that works, enabling 3G might work as well...

    Yup. Tried every possible combination:

    3G ON: Data Roaming ON
    3G OFF: Data Roaming ON
    3G ON: Data Roaming OFF
    3G OFF: Data Roaming OFF

All result in... No data network.

Same thing on the other local carrier in our country. The indicator for data just doesn't show up...

Oh well, tomorrow I test the claims of FuriouSIM. Hope that one's better.

BTW: Trying this GeveySIM without sanding down the chip (as what I did the first time) will cause your SIM tray to get stuck and you will most probably end up ruining it (as I did). The SIM tray is made of weak plastic, unlike the SIM tray of the iPhone Classic. Apple really learned a lesson from the past.
Strongly advise to sand-paper the chip until its as thin as a SIM card before inserting it for the 1st time.

Put some sticky tape over the chip and sim - you can then remove fully.

I made the same mistake.. I sent it back to apple and they sent me a whole new phone.

Put your simcard in another phone, and activate edge... go on some webpages. Pull sim out in middle of operation, and then put sim back in 3g iphone... it should work for a few hours at a time.

I just bought YESSIM and it does the same thing.. everything works but edge wont activate on its own for some reason... i think they will fix that with firmware update on the sim.. they even gave me a reader.

Has this worked for you on a Gevey? I tried swapping with my unlocked iPhone, then switching it back to the locked 3G. No success.

Just got my trial YESSIM today. So far same results as the GEVEY (Call and SMS OK, Data not working). But i haven't tried the Boosting thing yet coz my SIM tray is stuck. My bad, I shouldav sanded down that SIM solution before i inserted it.

ZOMG my SIM is stuck! The price we pay... hehe..
