    Question Firmware 1.0.2 jailbreak issue.

Does the jailbreak and activation process described here : http://www.hacktheiphone.com/iphone_...dding_mac.html work with firmware version 1.0.2? The new image is 91.3 mb but once unzipped shows 2 dmgs with different names from the 1.0.1.
    1.0.1 had '694-5262-39.dmg' and '694-5259-38.dmg'
1.0.2 has different names. Will this prevent jailbreak and activation to run?
Right now I havent jailbreaked it and have v1.0.2 installed. Is it safe to continue using the new firmware version instead of the old one for the supersim method using the method described above? Or should i use it with the previous firmware (is that safe? since its downgrading to a previous version).
    Thanks

    Hey Quick,
I have updated to 1.0.2 and everything works fine with supersim, lockdownd has changed but it works too, but I am still using the cracked version from 1.0.1 though.

To jailbreak just rename the dmg, cache files to 1.0 name and also edit restore.plist and do the same.

Tx for coming to my rescue again iPhone_blr. For some reason I cant get iASign to work.. Im on a mac. I'l try on a windows box tomorrow. I still dont have my silver cards yet. Wait for that before I jump right in. But could you tell me what properties should I edit in the Restore.plist file. I would assume the 2 dmg names, the kernelcache. Anything else?

I used the 1.0.2 firmware to jailbreak the phone.

Just copied the firmware from itunes and renamed it to .zip and unzip it. After that just ran the iActivator same way as with version 1.0 and 1.0.1.

When you updated to 1.0.2 with the superSim, what exactly went on?

I'm not talking about apps, just the Activation with anoter carrier (i have TIM, italy).

    In other words:

Did the update unactivate your iPhone and you had to re-activate it, or just installed and left the Activation as it was?

Could you detail any hassle you had upgrading?

    Thanks.

I have a prepaid ATT activated iphone. Ugraded the firmware today. I want to use a different provider and I have to use the SuperSim method. I do have a v1 simcard. I dont have any issues as such yet because I havent really tried to jailbreak it My question was that if i do want to jailbreak it and this tutorial ( http://www.hacktheiphone.com/iphone_...dding_mac.html ) is based on the 1.0.1 firmware then will I have an issue? Or can I just extract the 1.0.2 .ipsw and use it the way mention in the link above. (This is what Im unsure of because the dmgs have differnt names in the 1.0.1 and the 1.0.2 firmwares) 'iPhone_blr' has given a solution which I am going to try when I get my silvercards.

    Here is what I did

    1) Did a clean restore...
    2) Activated via DVD jhon method and enabled WIFI (May not be needed)
    3) To jail break, extracted iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw, copied jailbreak.exe, iphoneinterface.exe, iTunesMobileDevice.dll to extracted directory.
    4) Renamed 1.0.2 dmgs and kernelcache to 1.0 names, also edited 'Restore.plist' and changed the same to 1.0 names (rest remains same).
    5) jailbreak, Install SSH and fakeactivate
    6) Backup and Replace /usr/libexec 'lockdownd' with cracked lockdownd of 1.0.1 see (http://iphone.fiveforty.net/wiki/ind...alk:Activation)
    7) reboot
    8) Sync with Itunes to get contacts, music and other settings restored.
