Default Easiest and most cost effective solution???

    Hi guys,

I hope this doesn't spark an unnecessary amount of useless and needless waffle from the members of the forum that like to single users out for 'not searching' - for those of you who enjoy this just keep your negative thoughts to yourself as they of no interest to me and anyone else in my position.

So anyway... This week I've been hunting round this forum and various other places to find the easiest and most cost effective solution to "unlock" my week 48 iphone (US), whether it be by software or a temporary hardware solution to trick the phone. Concluding my weeks worth of digging around I think that a software solution is inevitable but no where to be seen in the near future without the release of 1.1.3 firmware. So that only leaves me one option, which I might add I'm not too happy about, and that is to chop my sim card up in order to use it with a hardware fix. I'm finding it difficult to decipher which hardware option to go for as there appears to be so many different options. Hopefully this thread will enable us to work out the pros and cons of each option so here's the list:

    TurboSim
    SonicSim
    MagicSim
    StealthSim
    SuperSim

I'm aware that some of the above require programming chips and obtaining information off the original sim yada yada yada but I can't quite remember as my head is spinning with the amount of info I've read this week! Is there any option that would allow us to just cut out the sim chip, place it onto another card and insert?

    Cheers guys
    Rich

Why do you not want to chop up your sim card? You can still use the sim card without the sim hack even after the cut.

Can you also be more specific about your last question..."Is there any option that would allow us to just cut out the sim chip, place it onto another card and insert?"

Overall, the Stealthsim should be the easiest as it requires no programming. IMO, I would only stick with either Turbosim or Stealthsim.

I ordered a Turbosim last week, but since it takes so long to deliver, I decided to order a Stealthsim as well. I'm currently running T-mobile USA with a Stealthsim; worked like a charm.

Hi there, thanks for the reply. StealthSim seemed like the option that initially struck me, it basically appears to be the answer to my question you've quoted there. No hidden programming required?

If no software unlock comes out anytime soon I'm going to have to go for the sim option, i have no other choice really!

It got me thinking though that surely this would keep our phones 'unlocked' through all the firmware updates because we're not modifying the phone - just tricking it (with the help of jailbrake too of course). So our warranty doesn't get voided if we go down the hardware route. Would that be correct?

    Cheers
