    Default [China3GPP] SMS Problems

    Hi everyone,

I have a 1.1.2 OOB iphone that I have activated/jailbreak and am using a China3GPP NextSim? Not sure if its really a NextSim. I have gotten everything to work except for SMS. I am having some very wierd problems that I've searched through the forums and the web but can't find a solution.

Whenever I send a SMS message to someone it would say "Error Sending Message" and I would lose all the bars on my T-Mobile service and eventually get a No Service indication on the top left hand corner of the iphone. I would have to wait for a little bit under a minute for my service to return.

I am not able to send any SMS messages to anyone. Whenever I attempt to send a message I would get the same error message "Error Sending Message" and lose service for about a minute. I am however able to receive messages. I can receive messages without any problems, it is just sending that is not functional so far.

Does anyone know whats the problem and any possible solutions to this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have the same problem! I'm able to send a sms message, but I will loose all the bars and get a 'no service'. After a couple of seconds everythings normal. Sometimes though I will get 'error sending message', it's really annoying.

Also every second day or so, I will get a 'no service', 'no sim' or all the bars down, no one can call me sms me etc. The only way to fix it is taking the sim out and back again. Bad connection? I've tried with an extra piece of scotch tape on the back of the sim, worked fine for a couple of days but then starting aching up again!

This problem is growing, I have been researching this recently and the common denominators are people using SIM Proxy Hardware (e.g. TurboSIM and all the clones) and T-Mobile.

    Good evening gentleman.

I have tested vigorously with the next2 (3gpp) original and found no problem whatsoever with T-mobile in UK... I did encounter what you have mentioned, but on a different provider (orange) and ONLY because the sim solution and my sim were not correctly aligned.

    To solve your problem?

use SMALL thin pieces of tape to keep the next 2 aligned PERFECTLY on top of your own sim, and send a few test-texts/calls until everything works fine. If you experience difficulties calling/texting, it is NOT aligned correctly. I am sure of this, I been testing this stuff out for a while now!

    happy unlocking fellow hackers,

    Linh

Hi, thanks for the response, I have taken the sim card out and put it into a Motorola Razr and sent Text messages without a problem. The funny thing is when I use the sim card and the NextSim in the Motorola Razr I can send text message but once the message is sent the Razr would lose service and blank out for a second.

So the NextSim and the T-Mobile Sim in the Motorola Razr has the same type of behavior.

Any additional response would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to get to the bottom of this problem.

I just realigned my NextSim with my T-Mobile simcard using scotch tape I put it together. I also used rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts on the simcard and both sides of the NextSim. I was careful as not to contaminate the simcard and the NextSim with my fingers. I put it all together and I am experiencing the same problem.

I still cannot send any SMS messages. The same behavior exist so I am sure it not a problem with realigning the NextSim and the simcard. Unless my NextSim is defective itself.

Any additional help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    Hey Everyone

Heres an update, I resolved my problem with the SMS.

I went to a cell phone store here in New York City and they told me what I had was a Next Sim V3 and not a V4. They said the V3 had problems. What they did was swap it out with a V4 with my T-Mobile sim and my SMS works. They then take the V4 out and replace it back with my V3 and my SMS continues to work.

There is no gaurantee with how long my SMS will continue to work. But I am not happy with the unstability of this Next Sim. I am looking for a more permanant solution without buying more Next Sim/Turbo Sims.

    Thank you everyone.

    hi
can you let me know the process that you unlock you phone? i have a nextsim3, downgrade 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 jailbreak, install oktoprep, update to 1.1.2 and jailbreak, even install iworld. couldn't get my service to work, can't make call IN/OUT. everything else works fine. when first time insert t-mobile and next sim in, a T-mobile (US) appear, can't make call. if i reboot the phone, signal bar is empty. can anyone helps. thanks
