I guess you have found the solution to the SMS problem, I just have to say thankyou very much, I fixed not only my iphone but other 3 using your method, you are the kind of person that helps the community, not like others that start scamming in the product instead of searching ofr a solution. I guess this problem has been more famous with the China3gpp, because is what most people have bought lately, but I think it is an overall problem, when the tape touches the circuits. You should spread this out to help desperate people like me. Thankyou.

So I have some really thin strips of double sided table on some of the edges of the *sim and on the bottom edge of *sim. It can be quite fiddly since you need to make sure that there is enough so that the *sim makes good contact with the carrier sim.

I'll see if I can post a picture of what I mean, but I hope this helps in the meantime.

PS. Day 4 and still no problems

I had this problem too. 2 ways to solve:

    1) Install SMSD and use this program to send SMS instead of Apple's

    2) You have to have the ATT GSM chip inside your iPhone when you turn it on. Then switch to your GSM chip with the *sim chip. Apple's SMS will work.

    Hi all.

It seems the connection problem between two cards cause this problem.

Here is a photo that you can see where the double sided adhesive tape is placed. It should not touch to the cooper contacts.

Today this strange thing also happened to my iPhone!

I was able to receive SMS but unable to send!

I have Swisscom, 1.1.2 unlocked with 3Gpp Next Sim card and so far worked with no problem almost for a month.

First of all I was re-reading all the post here regarding SmS sending problem.

I tried all possible solutions listed here:

1 - Taking the card out and try on another normal ( Sony Ericsson) phone to send SMS . It worked to send SMS from the other phone but when I put the sim card together with Next Sim in to the iPhone SMS still didn't work.

2 - Since I am the dealer :-) of these Next Sim cards, I wanted to give a benefit to doubt and I put a brand new Next Sim card trying the same above trick with no success.!

3 - This time I took a Bladox Turbo Sim which I had used initially to unlock my iPhone. Everything worked but NO SMS !

4 - I also tried another method which suggested here in this forum: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=22975
With no success. (taking the card out as NO SERVICE is shown!)

5 - I also tried *5005* ........ trick to confirm the message center number but still no success.

Finally I gave up! Hoping the SMS service to return itself.

As I was out in the garden with full reception bars I remembered that the last trick I hadn't tried:

I send a SMS message to some number that I've never sent before

    Guess what? I worked!!!!

Than it start to work also for all previous numbers that I was sending SMS before.

It is sure that there is kind of time bug which every sim clone solution is being effected and can be solved with this little trick.

I just hope a new sms fix comes out to solve this problem.

P.S / Please be very careful as it's still important to have both cards fixed to each other when using your Next Sim cards but be also very careful when you are trying to take apart to try to send sms from another phone only with your own sim card without Next Sim card.

OK, I just wanted to follow up. I discovered that my problems probibly had nothing to do with the CHINA sim. I had the exact same symptoms after updating to 1.1.2 using one of the first methods which eliminated the need for a sim clone. In the mean time I have updated to 1.1.3 using the ZiPhone 01 method, and everything is working.

So it was something other than the Next Sim that was causing the grief.

Phone will ring once, and then it loses all signal bars for a few seconds. After that it recovers, and it is as if nothing happened (strong signal strength indicated and provider's name in the upper left corner). I've tried all of the recommendations, except turning off EDGE (because I don't have that service here in Germany). Nothing has done anything to change this. It did seem to work when I originally tried it out. I gave the guy I bought it from on ebay a good rating (and so has everyone before and after me). It seems that (at least) some of the 3gpp China SIM deteriorate over time.

Oh well, there have been a lot of warnings against buying xyzSims.

    Definitely an issue with 3GPP.

I thought I had bought a v4, but from reading this thread apparently there is none? So I guess I have a v2 too.

Anyway, it sounds like it's a problem with talking to the network and nextsim masking some AT&T specific stuff, and when you put your sim (un nextsimified) into another phone and send a sms, the network resets your profile or something. (until the nextsim stuffs up again)

Screw stupid ass nextsim, I'm going to Software unlock.

For all them ho can’t send message, is the only problem that You have to go to your Operator network and to reorder your Sim cards. Because I hade the same problem then I understand that changing my old sim that I bout before 4-5 years, is old system and now I have the same number but new Sim card that support my Iphone message. I tested and it is working, I truly mist my message, but now I will not mist the words coming from my Iphone like, ”Error sending message failed”.

    Have Fun with messages.
