Hi guys,
I would like to know if this is just a China3GPP problem or it is a problem occuringwith all the *sims?
-
-
its China3GPP that has the sms problem. Not all xxxsims have this problem but it is China3GPP aka NEXT SIM V3...i have sold over 10 NEXT SIM V4's and they work fine.

Is there any way to fix the problem definitely so you dont have to be fixing it by one or other way constantly? Do you guys recommend me to get another *sim.
-
yeah i would do that but im not sure which *sim to get. im thinking of holding onto 1 of my iphones but i dont want to get a China3GPP sim or Gevey (V4 NEXT SIM). would you guys recommend any for me? I use T-Mobile USA, thanks

Well... I made it work too!!!
I've put my original sim in my old iphone, went to sms centre setting, save it again (even if it was correct) and send a text messages from my old phone.
Then I put the sim back in the iphone with the 3gpp (I've also bought a new double side sticker tape and reapply it firmly), and it magically worked!
I've send almost 10 sms's as now.... let's hope it will continue working!

For everybody out there who is trying to come up with a solution.
I have 2 Iphones, both 1.1.2 OTB from the US, both with China 3GPP bought on ebay from digisim, using them for 6 weeks now in Vodafone Portugal network.
One is working fine, the other has started giving me the "Error Sending Message" error 5 days ago.
I did the following:
1 - enter the smsc number (message center from operator) via the following instruction: *5005*7672*+351911616161#
problem remained
2 - went back to 1.1.1 and redid the whole Jailbreaking process
was able to send 3 sms and then had the same problem again (that is where I am now)
Will do the following to try to solve the problem:
1 - take sim and turbosim and clean contacts
2 - erase all messages on sim card in other phone and insert back into iphone
If any of this works will post here

The problem with this is that when you attach it to your sim card, it sticks onto the chipboard of the simcard and reduces contact. This would cause the thing to overheat and start to cut out giving us the problem we've all been having. Someone had mentioned that sending messages uses more 'energy' (definitely wrong term, sorry!) than phone calls which explains why it can't send messages properly and then cuts itself out.
I've just taken my next sim off my sim card, cleaned both with methylated spirits to clean them and stuck it back making sure that the double sided tape doesn't touch the circuit board of the sim.
For the past couple of days i couldn't message, but now - all is fine! I'll keep you posted as to whether this fixes the problem for more than just a few hours!
Hi guys,
I'm now on day 3 and still no error message appearing!
For all of you having the same problem - give it a try! Since i tried resetting my message centre which didn't work and tried sending a message from my other phone and then with my iPHone, and that didn't fix it either... but doing what i explained above has worked for 3 days now!!! (before i was getting the error message every day multiple times a day!!)
What do you have to lose by trying!

Ive had the problem of the SMS 2 times, the first time i solved it setting the service center, and the second time i fixed it getting my sim in other phone, now it is working but i would like to know if there is anyway to avoid this problem, so it doesnt happen again. I find what kh_123 is saying reasonable, has anyone else tried, since most of us are not that careful when sticking our *sim to our carrier sim.

When you say that the double sided tape shouldnt touch the sim's circuit board, you mean the *sim's or the carrier sim
