Can Someone Just Confirm I'm Thinking On The Right Lines Here?
Hi, I have a working turbo sim/iphone setup, and want to upgrade the firmware.
Am I right in thinking (at least as far as we know currently) that the procedure is simply that you:
1) Attempt upgrade through itunes
2) Itunes doesn't validate it (because of jailbreak) and forces system restore
3) System restore complete, firmware is then implemented
4) One must then re-run jailbreak and activation with iAsign
Is all this correct? I think this would help lots of people who are a bit unsure about the status of the firmware situation.

Not the same but similar: I accidentally updated my iPhone to the latest 1.0.2 Firmware, I'm using a TurboSIM with a german Vodafone SIM.

Everything on the phone(music, videos and movies) was gone, the iPhone was at it's "virgin" state again. Activation started automatically and took around one second, very fast (I have a GoPhone contract).
The TurboSIM with the german Vodafone SIM still works perfectly, no problems that all mods/hacks like ssh, sftp, applesaft, etc. are gone. On the contrary, I have the feeling that the iPhone is more stable now regarding the network connection.
So what YOU need to do is simply to jailbreak and re-activate your iPhone after a firmware update. The TurboSIM should be still working. Check the forum which activation methods actually work with the new firmware 1.0.2, there may be some issues. Good luck.
