Can I clone my iPhone sim to use in a non-iPhone
I have a very cheap GSM phone I sometimes use when I have to trek to a relatively unsafe neighborhood. (Long, long story. I'm willing to tell it, but this would bog down the message.)
Anyway, rather than remove the sim from my iPhone and put it in the generic GSM phone (which does work fine, but it's a bit of trouble, and I worry about the wear and tear on the sim), I'd rather clone the iPhone sim and leave the clone in the non-iPhone cell. I do understand that using BOTH phones at the same time would very likely cause me some serious trouble (probably legal trouble at that), but that's not going to happen because that is neither my need nor intent. I just want to be able to use my account on one phone OR the other but not both at once.
Would any of the supersim techniques described here and elsewhere work for me (even though I'll always use the cloned sim on AT&T but just on a different phone)? Any guidance or thoughts would be appreciated.

Just order a new simcard from your carrier?

That sounds like an easy solution. So... I can walk into an AT&T storefront and ask to buy a replacement sim card for my iPhone account? Would that "replacement" sim contain new data that would invalidate the first sim card? (If so, that would seem like a reasonable security precaution on their part, but it would also negate the solution.) Has anyone else done anything like this?

Thanks, Zf. So am I understanding correctly that the supersim solutions detailed for unlocking don't result in what is essentially a cloned sim and, moreover, that I couldn't apply that technique to a regular AT&T sim to clone it (because actual cloning isn't brought to bear in the unlocking solution)?
Appreciatively (but disappointedly),

Hi !
I got a similar Problem,
i'd love to clone the sim to put one card in my UMTS modem and to leave one in the iPhone...
Does cloning a V3 card not work at all or does it simply result in a V1 card not usable for UMTS ?
( If this was true i could use the cloned "degraded" card in the iPhone to just use GPRS-EDGE and to use the original V3 card in my UMTS modem ).
Obviously i have no clue about that stuff, so be gentle with me :-)
