Hi guys,

I got my u-sim samples and I inserted one without tape because it seemed thin enough and I had sanded my sim card for the other tests. Result: my sim card got stuck and broke my sim tray. Now phone does not recognize any sim. So my 3g is doomed and I'm off the iPhone scene because I not only I am outside the countries that sell iPhones but also have no money right now.

Outch, sorry to hear that man! Take it apart and see if all looks still intact, if so try to bend the connector pins of the sim a bit forward. This might help avoiding the "No SIM" error... (not sure if you can still insert sims with the broken tray)

Yeah, that might help with contact but be careful not to break the connector pins. They snap easily, I broke a faulty phone (not an iPhone) trying to do the same thing in an attempt to repair it....

Deco my friend, sorry to know this. Can u take a picture of the damaged and let see if we can fix it. Cod I want to know u broke the plastic tray or the internal tray ? If just the plastic tray, I can fedex u 1 black brandnew one.

As far as I know I only broke the plastic tray. I know I also broke the plastic that kicks the sim tray out. But the metal that holds the sim and all the contacts look good.

The guys at Universal Sim offered to send me another sim tray. I thought it was nice of them. So I'll wait for their sim tray.. in case they can't send me one I'll let you know and send you money for the shipping if you got a spare one.

Where are you in the world? I have the same problem.. sent my whole phone back to Apple saying the ejector broke and they replaced the phone with a complete brand new one.

If we can find someone,, where your phone is from, we can do the same. Hell, if is the UK - drop me a PM.

I have the same bad painful experience as you, I believe there are thousands of *sim users have this problems as wee when taking the simtray out. The *sim ic was caught in the middle of the release catch of the smart iPhone designer.


I am a bit lucky because I got an original replacement for USD 5 in China, even cheaper than the shipping cost only from ebay.

I'm in Brazil.

U-Sim guys sent me a new sim tray I'll see if that works and if it doesn't we can try the desperate measures!
