Default [Advice] Why people choose expensive Stealthsim ?

    Hi,

I intend to buy a sim patch, i can see there are many different sim patches around, from the most expensive one -stealthsim to the cheaper one at half the price.

I noticed that there are still many people buying the expensive stealthsim, but not the cheaper one from china, although all of them I believe all of the sim patches work on a similar principle by faking the iphone that we are using the AT & T card.

would you guys who has purchased stealthsim sharing your reasons why you have chosen stealthsim? I think the answers would be very useful for us in chosing our sim patch in the future!

StealthSIM sounds like a good quality ***SIM and many ppl have been having good luck with it. Supposable it can work with 1.1.3FW....(I'm prob wrong though haha) I thought I seen a topic started somewhere in here? I think the StealthSIM would be a good choice but that's just my opinion:p

    Hi,
Turbosim from Bladox (the first programmed and used around) is originally at 59Euros. Makes it quite cheap for a *SIM that, as long as *SIM can unlock phones, is future proof since it can be programmed again and again. Unfortunately official shop is closed and can be found mostly only on Ebay and three times it's price.

Stealthsim is a *SIM produced by a company with official page, is "Cool" as it's all in black and it is transparently universal (can be used with both US and EU phones without user action).

The Chinese clones (whatever type) have no fancy colour or design. Plain PCB with model on it (when they print it). Is no updatable and sometimes (for universal *SIM) you must get in a menu to do the config. Advantage: they can much cheaper than the two above.

As stated by many in this board, no *SIM solution is proven to be future proof. They can be used till the "simlock" check can be bypassed by faking some responses to the phone, avoiding to send this fake info also to the network, which could lead into several other issues.

My advice... If you have a 1.1.2 phone and don't plan trying to update your *SIM or play with it, get a China clone. If you want a fancy one, get the Stealthsim.

    I recently bought:
    3GPP China clone: 45USD (Ebay)
    Bladox Turbo SIM 108Euro (Ebay)
    Stealthsim (Black) 65Euro (Ebay)

Why three? Curious to see them. Might sell 1 or 2 to people I know if I don't use them, but I'll most probably keep the Bladox for me.

    Ka.

I agree with your point of view, I am curious to see them all as well. But if my sim card is v3, I was told that the KI cannot be read, so I cannot programm the turbosim to be used on iPhone, it that right?

From your experience, does the 3GPP sim work as good as the Stealthsim on AT & T , if I do not need universal because I only have AT & T iPhone, the O2 iPhone is far too expensive from UK.

Why people calling the China *sim a clone? I have seen the *sim on the ebay well before the Stealthsim, so is Stealthsim only a better modification of the Chinese *sim? Or the *sim are really a clone of Stealthsim?

    Hi,
I say "China *SIM clones" because there are many & many models coming from China, looking more or less all the same (plain PCB, some variants have sticky tape on them ready to be used, different chips).

In contrast with a Stealthsim which is made by a company with a "face" (well, a website), that has official dealers and distributors, clear and distinctive look, etc.

I'm not actually saying that one is more reliable than the other, just that it's easier to know where to complain if something goes wrong. On the same line, you can't blame Bladox if you can't program your Turbosim properly but you can blame Stealthsim if your phone isn't unlocked after you cut your sim properly and applied it.

Anyway, if you have an US Iphone and want to stay on the cheap side, get a 3GPP...
