Ok im guessing this is going to be easily answered by someone on here but im a bit lost at the moment...
I have a UK orange sim, rather new, around 11 months, now i understand the V1 sim is needed and understand why, but if i get a v1 sim, how can i carry on with my current contract ?
I.e i want to keep my number, can the V1 sim be re programmed to used the number / contract.
Cheers In advance.

U people just dont understand! If your actual SIM card that U are using NOW isnt V1 this is not method for U! U cant programmed V2,V3 to V1 SIM, its what it is! If you wanna get this to work U must buy from someone old V1 SIM card, but then its new number, its new SIM! People who dont have V1 SIM card cant use this method!

That will be difficult because in normal cases till will have no V1 in stock (I think the guys in the callcenter doesn't know the difference).
The best way is that you ask them If you can get an old 5 Volt SIM Card because your Car-Phone can't handle the 3.3 Volt SIM Cards. Their is no other way to get an V1 SIM Card
