Agree, why people still need to use a turbosim while we can use ziphone to unlock the iphone?

The turbosim is useful only when the iphone is activated , without unlocked. A locked iphone will only reconise a AT & T sim, that is the iPhone is network locked. ( Unlike some phones from Europe, which are sim-locked, i.e. only reconise the sim come with this particular phone, other sim from the same network cannot be use on this phone) I think iPhone is network locked, not sim-locked.

The turbosim make the activated but locked iPhone believe that other newtwork sim is an AT & T sim, so the iPhone is " unlocked".

When iPhone is network-locked, it will only reconise the AT & T network, so I guess an iPhone which legally activated through the AT & T can use all AT & T sim card, but not other network sim card. ( correct me if I am wrong- I do not have such iPhone to test)

So if they want to sell more XXXXsim, they should consider activating & jailbreaking the iPhone , but without unlocking it!

Nope ... everyone is right ... 1.1.4 does not work with TurboSIM. Seems like applesaft 0.92 on the TurboSIM needs to be updated. Maybe some industrious programmer will do it. One can only hope.

Because

1) I will miss some features by not upgrade baseband to latest one or
2) I will make a currently impossible move -- downgrade bootloader

I am still reluctant to do #2. Maybe when they publish a way to upgrade 3.9BL back to 4.6 I can do this and be back on the 'bleeding edge'. Until now, I found no use for Locate Me neither got any signal issues.

Why am I against BL downgrade? Apple do knows exact versions of everything they sell. If I need to send my phone back, or it must go "toasted" enought for nothing be identified, or it will be as much original as possible. That includes 4.6 BL -- the only thing they (Apple) not touched yet.

And hey, I spent $150 on a TurboSIM, so let me use it

BTW, we are not using ZiPhone, we are all using a masq'ed gunlock
