Default [1.1.3] Will *sim work on an official activated iPhone ?

    Hi All,

I want to buy a second-hand ver.1.1.3 iPhone which has been officially activated through iTunes with AT & T, can someone tell me that without any modification nor any hardwore/software unlocking:

    1) can I use this iPhone with another AT & T card ?

    2) can I use another operator sim card in combination with a *sim ?

A lot of people claim that the *sim they are selling will do magic on any version of iPhone, but I do not really believe all these advistment, pls. share your experience !

    Thanks!

    Umm,
    1) ATT sim should work with an officially activated iphone.
    2) I am not sure if you will be able to use an *sim to unlock it for all networks. (as far as i am aware *sim will work with jailbroken and activated 1.1.2, and 1.1.3 softupdated using dev-team method).

Its quiet easy to unlock it to all networks if you follow the guide on iclarified.com website. (Downgrading your bootloader will invalidate your warranty, but unless you have an official contract you technically have no warranty)

Not sure about 1, think it *should* work as phone was previously activated on AT&T.

Regarding 2, it depends. All *Sim solutions relies on 04.02.12_G and previous Baseband (up to 1.1.2) plus a lockdownd patch, and they do not work on recent ones (04.03.13_G and 04.04.05_G, from 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 respectively). Unless your phone still has 04.02.12_G or lower baseband plus such patched lockdownd, you will be unable to use a *Sim solution.

If the *sim fool the iPhone by pretend it was an AT & T sim, but why this disguise can not work on 04.02.12_G? Has iPhone become smarter from 1.1.3 & 04.03.05_G ?
