It depends on how and what is hacked. Sounds like GeoHot stikes again: take a look at his blog and you will see a custom bootloader. Seems that he found an extension to his exploit that allowed him to change the bootloader. Now, the ski is the limit for 4.6BL phones.

Soon we will see people upgrading their 3.9BL

and so all iphones now will be unlocked for ever right so my OTB 1.1.3 iphone will always be unlocked and people will creat custom firmware and the hacers will take over AAPL just like how the HACKERS took over the SONY PSP 100%

Don't think Apple will give up that easy! They have been very creative in patching holes and creating new locks, as people have been even more creative and lucky (yesi it also a matter of luck) to find new exploits. Apple contract with AT&T and the other "Official Carries" mandate that they do a great level of effort to ensure that the phone is for their networks only.

Also, even if the ultimate unlocking is found (a code generator that will create unlock codes), there is always activation and jailbreaking. Apple was smart to create a 3 level locked system....

YEAH but APPLE doesn't update the bootloader via software never its to risky if something went wrong while your updating then your fucked so iphones hacked now for 4.6 are all safe 4.6 BL is gonna be very wanted like 3.9
