at least judging by the pictures kingsim posted here:
    http://www.iphone.org.hk/cgi-bin/ch/...92&age=0&bpg=1

Both are Chinese sellers. I conclude that is the same card.
it looks like hypercard is a dual sim
whereas Kingsim is a variant of the turbo sim method

anyone using one from http://www.iphonesimfreer.com/index.html right now? i assume it works though

problem is: you most likely cannot update those chinese cheapy cards... and what if Apple decides not only to check for the ICCID and the IMSI two times in the beginning of the bootprocess? You would have to buy a new one again...
Although I had probs with the SIM mechanics in my wife's 4GB iPhone (which I luckily could unlock with software method then) I really like TurboSIM for my own 8GB modell...

Yes, it sounds like a dead lock.

We can buy a turbosim (it would cost more than USD 100,00 for me in Brazil) and soon be granted by the software unlock.

Or we can buy those cheaper adapters and be exposed to the problems you have mentioned, and no sw unlock method is released.

It's a tough decision. My iPhone will arrive this weekend from Miami through a cousin and I still don't know what to do. I decided not to buy the Turbosim on the 40 min window their shop were opened yesterday. I bet either on the sw unlock or KingSim.

    Default only support v1 sims??

do u guys know about the supported sim types for Kingsim (they categorize them as v1, v2 and v3)...it says only v1 in the link below...

    http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19650

    What do u think?

Anybody who already have an iphone working with v2 sim & kingsim will be a great proof for me...

I provided that information about KingSim being only v1, I was pretty sure I had read it somewhere, but seems I might have been wrong.

Long time lurker here. registered to inform you..

Tonight I will get a KingSim (should be a v 2 ) installed. Tomorrow I will let you know if it was successful.
    **UPDATE**
I got the SIM (looks like http://tinyurl.com/2kh5zf )
    Phone/SMS-working
    KINGSIM cost - US$$39
my carrier '3 / Orange' (Hong Kong)
    *************
I made the contact on here ( N.B. All these links are in Chinese , however you should be able to see some pictures and prices HK300 = US$39)
    http://hk.search.auctions.yahoo.com/...phone+sim&cat=
This site below is for a Chinese auction site selling pretty much the same thing
    http://search1.taobao.com/browse/0/t...at_topsearch=1
    (same= http://tinyurl.com/2438uu)

    (edited out old information )
My feeling towards this KingSIM situation is this
*I believe these SIMS will flow out of China , so look out for cheap KingSIMS in your native country on auction sites particular Asian favoured sites - over the next week
*prices of these will drop as the market becomes flooded
*see if any others are using them before you buy to see if your carrier is supported, but you should be OK
*Even if they are non upgradable , its worth a shot because they are cheap and who knows maybe a software unlock will follow the firmware upgrade- you don't have much to lose this way also no one really knows if we will be locked out again anyway- its worth the chance IMHO.

Personally I am over the moon I can finally use my iphone..yes I did outlay US$40 but then again I am only on a US$9 a month plan.

and good luck to people who are willing to give it go and share their knowledge with everyone else!

The PSS Sim v2 (from Taiwan) card is working fine for me (since last Saturday) from iphone4.tw, ppl should check this option too.

Non-programable, I think only for US iPhone.
    PSS Sim (Dual sim)
    PSS Sim v2 (Single sim)

Last I bought at USD82 including EMS mail to everywhere in the world. But currently, ran out of stock. The price might go up again.
