Hey guys, finally the problem was the black coating covering the Tsim circuits. When the printed connections are shining through, maybe some fake contact could disturb the Tsim functioning. What I did to solve the issue was to use some clear and very thin tape to cover the Tsim circuits. Hopefully this would help somebody in the same situation. Thanks for your support.

everything worked fine (i thought) but when I try step 20 I do not have "Settings menu > Phone>SIM Applications", has anyone an idea?

Hi there! I this second I hold in hands my (turbo sim + windows) unlocked OTB 1.1.2 operating on Luxembourgish Tango network. In order to contribute a bit to the (great job done!) while writing this tutorial, I want to share some proposals to update it:

1) pls mention at the very end of the tutorial that for people coming from a not supported country there is the nice tool iworld existing which fixes the bug on SMS & dial pad crashing. I tried to use the "phone&sms fix" function of idemocracy which made me working a whole day to unbrik it again. After this bad idea, the phone was continuously freezing at step 3_16 on "initializing modem" instead of ending with a ok. It finally worked after erasing the programming allready done on the TS with using the TPIN provided on the white turbo sim cover as a sim pin. (found that tip in the forum)

2) pls make once more clear that it is very very very important to have the sim card EXACTLY cut to match the TS. I was stuck on the final applesaft thing for hours before I tried to cut it a millimeter more which made it running.

3) Pls remove the download link in part 3_4 for the CommCenter files. They are not needed at all and currently the tutorial asks to download them while not saying anything more on how to use them.

Hope this will prevent others of spending hours on a similar bug fix hunting.

1. iWorld: that is already suggested in the 1st post of this thread i would, but I cant, as tutorials grew and changed, I came to knew that postings in this forum are limited to the very amount of 10000 chars. I decided to post such important facts into the first post of this thread. you will find it there.

thanks again to all of you out there. i did a tut almost from scratch some weeks ago, and there have been improvements ever since then, almost daily, i not even included the new independence yet, which will make it all much easier. it is christmas, thats why i dont have the time right now to take care about everytinh, but i will as soon as i can, most likely 3rd of january, till then, i wish a merry very HAPPY christmas, and all good luck for not breaking your phones even in 2008. stay tuned to this thread, i will be back for more later.

yes
make sure that "turbo-info" and "turbo-app" exactly respond the things which they should (written in the tutorial). make sure that you apply 0755 rights to all those files before proceeding. if all this is true, it should work. it worked for me.

I am still receiving the errors stated in my original post. This is after multiple transfer of the necessary files to their respective folders, plus ensure they all have 0755 as permissions.

Can you please help by offering an alternative location for the said ZIP package?

(make sure NOT to to reboot your iPhone after typing this until you finished with STEP 3/18, not even accidentally, coz then you will be stuck!)

these both steps at windows dont work. putty says: unknown argument '-w'

what should i do?

oops. sorry. just put the -w parameter BEHIND the unload or load command. just a wrong order.

Thanks for the great and detailed description how to unlock and activate an OTB iPhone with 1.1.2 . I just bought my iPhone yesterday and in addition an UltraSim card from unlockcellular.com.

Does anyone know if the procedure to unlock an iPhone with TurboSim would also work with UltraSim? And also, when beginning the unlock should the AT&T sim card be removed?
