@imaso: i don't know why the normal way didn't work out for him. I would suspect he chose the framework file/folder twice instead of choosing independence.app. Basically what this process does is to copy the framework to independence.app
you could just stick that link to your tutorial, so people just have to download it, instead of scratching their heads over selecting files and stuff

Oki But how do I actually see how my iPhone is out or not out of its recovery mode? When I start iTunes while my iPhone connected, it tries to make me register my AT&T membership... Then the phone out of the recovery mode, isn't it?

so when the activation screen is there do as shown in the youtube video. and dont connect your phone to itunes, as told in step 1/4!!!

the activation screen on your phone for christs sake. the one also shown in that youtube video.

if you access your school's wifi network through VPN (mine used to), I'm not sure if the iPhone supports it although I do see VPN on my iPhone.

to kick your phone outta recovery mode, quit itunes, launch independence and wait until you see the activation screen on your iPhone's screen.

I'm not trying to access my wifi school network through VPN, just as a usual wifi connection, but I'm not able to surf since I havn't connected through my username...

Edit: I've just found out that I'm not able to do so, connect to the wifi network 802.1X authenticated.. I'll have to wait till I get home.
