When I put all files exexpt applesaft in folder marked /usr/bin and right click mouse I see the usual item open, edit, copy, duplicate, move, move to,delete, renamecustom commands, file names,properties...
but there is no info option to give the move item 0755-rights?
What am I doing wrong?
ahhhhh.... dont know if it is called info in putty or how, nikimere edited that win tutorial. but i guess edit or properties might help. just dont know. 755 rights will have to be applied.

If one can't set the rights in WinSCP or what ever SCP client, then they can be set once the person logs into the iPhone with:
chmod 755 <filename>

Great tutorial...am thinking about going down the TurboSIM route myself, was originally put off by the idea of having to program it, but if it can be done in the phone then thats great.. have a quick question though...
In the tutorial (as with other OTB 1.1.2/4.6) approaches, the idea is to downgrade to 1.1.1 and then upgrade to 1.1.2...which all sounds grand, but if/when firmware 1.1.3/+ gets released, will iTunes allow me to still upgrade to just 1.1.2 or will it only allow me to upgrade to 1.1.3/+ ?
The reason why I ask, I've got an OTB1.1.2, still in box. I don't mind waiting for a real unlock solution, but under my circumstances I want to have this working on the 25th of December. So the TurboSIM sounds like my solution. However, if a new firmware release would stop me going from 1.1.1 back to 1.1.2, maybe i'd be best to crack open the box and do the downgrade/jailbreak/upgrade process now?
Thanks

Matlock,
I too was wondering about the same since yesterday. I guess is we can not "update to 1.1.2 from 1.1.1" from itunes once 1.1.3 is released !.
OMG, I guess its not possible to jailbreak1.1.2 with restore of FW 1.1.2 currently. Correct me if i m wrong.
If this is the case we might have to wait for jailbreak1.1.3 !!!
experts pls.. all those ppl having OTB 1.1.2 and still didnt do downgrade, upgrade should do it by Saturday ???
I too have 2 OTB 1.1.2 untouched, 1 1.1.2 OTB downgraded, upgraded.. pls shed some light on this...

Well lets not get too worried yet, there is no proof of an update on Saturday. The day an update is released we will all know about it pretty quick. Anything before the actual release is just going to be speculation/rumors.

I haven't checked, but how do the people do the following path:
1.1.2 -> 1.1.1 -> 1.0.2 -> 1.1.1 -> 1.1.2
as I have understood this is possible and it also requires one to upgrade from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 which is considered an old firmware by iTunes.
I mean you can get the 1.1.2 firmware image from apple download site already now and I guess you can go to it using iTunes manually, but it would be good if someone could comment how this can be done as I guess you can easily RESTORE to 1.1.2, but can you select a firmware that you UPGRADE to?

This solution worked with my UK 1.1.2 OOB iPhone...
My order:
Downgrade to 1.1.1 -> jailbreak & activation -> oktoprep -> Update to 1.1.2 -> jailbreak & activation -> installation of BSD Subsystem / CommunitySources / openSSH and so on...
Now it works with my operator (o2 Germany).
Thank U!

jailbreaking RESTORED/OTB 1.0.2, 1.1.1 is possible.. I dont remember seeing jailbreaking RESTORED/OTB 1.1.2 (without downgrading )
