After completing the section 3 and getting the phone fully functioning is it possible to delete all of the following that we installed in step three?

3. on your iPhone, start the Installer and install the following: BSD Subsystem / CommunitySources / openSSH

I don't want to use this method without knowing all that's involved, but every time I try to load the PDF for the cutting instructions, nothing appears.
If someone could fix that in the opening post, that'd be most appreciated.

afaik yes. you might reinstall those again later if you wish to do further modifications to your phone.

I'm not 100% sure how turbosim works, but did you have turbosim inside the iPhone at the time (it is required by the tutorial, but just checking). Because it seems like the commands were supposed to be answered by the turbosim, but weren't. If it was indeed inside, then I'd recommend opening a new thread and let the experts answer, but I'd guess one option is also that the turbosim could be hosed (don't take my word for it, I'm just speculating, haven't used a turbosim yet...)

I turned the iPhone off and on again. And there it worked.

regarding the error message when you run turbo-info....

had the same problem with two phones :-( try to run turbo-info a few times, with one of my phone it took three tries and i got the ok, programming went fine and turbo sim works beautifully.
with the second phone, i had to re-adjust the turbosim with the att sim and in the iphone slot. be generous with cutting the att sim. then it worked.

what hardly any tutorial mentions, from my experience the hardest part in getting turbosim to work is the correct alignment of the iphone/turbosim/network sim.... the rest is pretty easy and straight forward.

7. on your iPhone click Installer, and wait for it to refresh, it will tell you that it found an update, click install and after it is done click the home button and wait for the iPhone to do a soft reset, then slide to unlock.


8. on your iPhone click Installer / Tweaks 1.1.1 / Oktoprep and install that one. Wait for Installer to say it is ok blah blah blah, then press home button and wait for a soft reset. (do not restart phone)

I´ve successfully acomplished all steps, until 7. But now I´ve been waiting for 2 hours an Installer refresh to install an update to continue to step 8, but there are not updates yet.

The intaller is the V3.0b8 is this the latest?

Should i continue the next step (8)? or i´ll wait?

another guy had the same prob (just read through the thread, must be 1 or 2 pages before this one). i told him to forget about the "update the installer" stuff and just proceed, say install oktoprep from tweaks and so on. he replied that it all worked out. seems that you already have the newest installer installed
