Question [1.1.2 OTB][rumors][Can Carriers detect a sim moded iphone?]

    Hello.

Some one told me that someone else got his cell phone line banned (they cancelled his contract) because they detected he was cloning his card or something like that, and that they wont allow ppl to use iphones because they dont want legal issues, his friend had an OTB 1.1.2 iphone using a turbosim..

Is it techincally possbile for carriers to detect turbo-stealth-hyper,next.. simmed lines?? because as far as i know the communication trick occurs only between the regular sim card and the iphone using a turbo sim, there shouldnt be any traces between the regular sim and the carrier service right?

Is there a way the can detect thos devices??..

    Thanks in advance.

No I don't think so.... They only be looking for faked SIM's. A carrier wouldn't be worried about you using a iphone locked to another carrier on his network. I don't know where you are from, but here in Switzerland the carriers don't have prob with it. I had an issue related to network (not the iphone ;=)) and I told them (my carrier is sunrise) I was using a locked iphone. They didn't mind at all.

    hope this helped

Cloning a SIM is different than just using a turbosim.
Detecting a cloned SIM is possible (like sending update messages and checking the result). A carrier can have an idea of how many iphones are connected on his network (the first part of IMEI). If this carrier is not supposed to have iphone (like vodafone), then it's likely via a cracked baseband or a turbosim.

I see.. but is it technically possible for carriers to detect when the phone was cracked via a sim device???? Thanks.
