Do not think you followed all steps "to the letter"

When you put turbosim files to the phone, you need to make sure you are on toplevel folder. Any of the tools used to copy files to your iPhone will let you go up on such folders until you see folders named /bin, /dev, /etc, /System, /Library and so on. There is where you need to store your turbosim files.

Restart process again, (assuming you are using an OOB 1.1.2), by RESTORING back to 1.1.1, unlock, yadda-yadda, oktoprep, 1.1.2, unlock, then redo this guide.

I have done what you say and when i go to ./turbo-iphone-smsreset it then says ./turbo-iphone-smsreset:not found. I have put the programs in the correct place, eg.. where you said too and still nothing. Not even Cd lol

Any help anyone could give me would be gratefully recieved.

    I have the same problem.

1.) I used WinSCP to copy the "turbo"-folder with all the files into the upmost directory of my iPhone.
/turbo/(all the turbo files) ... stupid question here: the .DS_Store file is not of any relevance, right? I skipped it, so it is not on the iPhone.

2.) I put the 777-mode to all the files in the folder with WinSCP.

3.) I opened Putty and connected with the IP adress and password of the iPhone.

4.) entering the first line (launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist) into Putty did nothing but prompting me an other line (good, right?)

entering the second line (./turbo-iphone-smsreset) told me that there is no such file. I tried to change the directory with cd /turbo but Putty prompted me that there is no such directory.

I restarted the phone to see if anything is still fine and the Phone did not start up.
It was stuck with the white apple and the little circle.
I had to restore the FW 1.1.1 then jailbreak and OktoPrep and then update to 1.1.2. and jailbreak again.

My Phone is a 1.1.2 OTB UK O2 and I use a TurboSim from Bladox.

Thank you all for you help.

OK, do the following: Just after you send files to the iPhone, go into it and check if you have turbo files in there, or if they are still under a second folder. When you find out where those files at, then this is the folder you need to enter when you connect via SSH/PuTTY.

Also, remember, cAsE sEnSiTiVe. CAPSED and non-capsed commands, folders and files are all completly different type exactly as you see them. Cd does not change folders, but cd does.

You can skip the .DS_Store, it has no use for us.

Also, most of commands should not return any message. Those who returns are turbo ones, and besides turbo-iphone-smsreset, all others reply always with OK (sometimes i got ERROR but nothing to be worried).

You can just connect using SSH/PuTTY and enable CommCenter again (launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist): This is what loads SpringBoard and, as it is disabled, it looks like your phone is stucked, while it is not at all

    hi,

i unlocked my phone 1 week ago according to this tutorial here.
very easy and not as unclearly as other tutorials around with 1000 liitle steps.
i like basic information that just works!

    BIG THANK YOU!

now some, maybe silly questions... but i want to get 100% sure...

i want to have a backup of the phone in a fresh jailbroken/unlocked status.
    (described here: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...ghlight=backup)

i did not do a restore before.

will the phone be as virgin as it was when unboxing when i click restore in itunes?
will the whole filesystem be erased completely? root password will be back to alpine?

should i restore directly to 1.1.1 in order to jailbreak and oktoprep and upgrade to 1.1.2 and save some time OR should i click restore normally and then restore again with the 1.1.1 firmware pack and so on...?

since i unlocked it with turbosim there won't be ANY trace of modifying the phone, right? the firmwares were not modified in any way, right?
(just asking for the case of a repair)

i won't need the turbo files any more because my sim is already programmed.?
i will need the turbofiles again on the phone if i want to reprogram the TS?
i will probably need to reprogram TS with a newer applesaft when an newer firmware is out and the exploit the current applesaft is using no longer works?
i don't need to reprogram the turbosim when changing the sim (could not try yet)?

what does the "-w" option mean in the load/unload commands? what is the difference between eg "unload -w" to "unload"?

    thx for help!

    cheers!

I installed OpenSSH on the phone, that did the job.
    Sorry for all the confusion....

With TurboSIM, we have this big advantage we are only playing with firmware files, not with baseband or other obscure "PROM". So, to get phone 100% original, just restore it to same firmware it had when you took it from box. There should be no single trace of any hacking on your phone, all needed tools -- applesaft.trb -- is on your TurboSIM card, so nothing left behind.

I did this 2 days ago, original phone fw is 1.1.2 (OOB), but i restored 1.1.1, unlocked with jailbreakme.com, bsd tools+oktoprep, updated to 1.1.2, jailbreaked it, didn't opted to install ssh but done so using installer, logged on my phone, changed root/mobile passwords and moved away Installer.app to a /disabled, so whoever looks to my phone says its legit. Even Apple Genius last night told me the same, ROFL.

I don't know what should be done in case a new firmware goes out. Prolly will first try to understand what exactly it do changes before blindly goes to update my phone. But yes, it may be only an applesaft.trb update. And we need to get an active phone So this can lock us down on a previous version for some time.

About -w option, I am assuming it is the same as for MacOS X:

    launchctl Apple manual page

load -w Remove the disabled key and write the configuration files back out to disk.
unload -w Add the disabled key and write the configuration files back out to disk.

Thanks, this worked, except: in step 5, I first had to cd to turbo and rebooted after.
