[Tethering] T-Mobile $20 plan settings ?
I have seen articles on how to tether the iphone to a laptop with the $6.00 T-Zones plan and even got it to work for me. I would like to upgrade to the $20 (Total Internet) plan for better speed but am wondering how to do the tethering in that plan.
I used Tiny Proxy under the T-Mobile $6 plan, with the below configuration file. The laptop had both HTTP Proxy and HTTPS Proxy with server [my_iphone_ip_address]:8080
What would I use for the Upstream Server if I switch to the T-Mobile $20 plan? Will 216.155.165.50:8080 still work or do I need something else? Has someone here tethered with the $20 plan?
Thanks in advance.

I got it to work on both Blackberry Unlimited and Total Internet plans. The key is I needed to use the default config file for TinyProxy and get rid of the one I had for the $6 plan. I do find a tethered connection is about 1/3 slower than just using the phone and am curious why and if I can do anything to improve it.

Any ideas about improving the speed while tethering or why it is slower when tethered than when phone is used alone. I use iphonenetworktest.com for the speed test.
