Exclamation [SSH] Can't connect, "permission denied"

    hey guys.

i am trying to ssh into my phone (1.1.4) using transmit on my mac. openssh is installed and activated, but whenever i try to connect i get the error message "could not connect to server "ip.of.my.iphone". Permission denied."

i tried un- and reinstalling openssh but had no luck.

did i put in anything wrong?

    server: ip.of.my.iphone
    name: root
    password: password
    initial path: /
    port: 22
    protocol: SFTP

i changed roots password with independance 1.4 beta 5, before even "dottie" and "alpine" didn't work.

i toggle ssh with bossprefs, could that be a problem?

    thanks a ton in advance.

With Network Utility (/Applications/Utilities/) check the open port of your phone.

    22 should respond.

    appears to be fine.

maybe i should re-install bsd subsystem, but i get the annoying "package download error" when i try that. any ideas?
