Default Slow SSH connections. Any way to speed them up?

Hey Hackint0sh members! I am having problems with my iPhone 3G. It is Jaibreaked, running 2.1 and OpenSSH installed through Cydia. The problem is that the SSH connections are very very slow, and not meaning the copy speeds which are fine, but the terminal feels very slow. Like me being faster than the terminal. ls and cat commands are not so slow, i don't know where the problem may be.
Any way to speed them up?
    Thanks in advance,

EDIT: sorry, i mistakenly put this thread in Tools. Should be in toolchain. f*ck

That's a nice point of view. I thought it would be better in the 3rd party software section, as it's OpenSSH of the iPhone. Thanks, duck. Any thought on that?

Try iPhone Tunnel Suite : you'll be amazed how fast the SSH connections will become, and without wi-fi!!!

    +1
That is the best option to make SSH without using SSH. The speed connection is above 1100 kb/s, more than Wifi.

Unfortunately it doesn't work in Mac OS X...

iPhone Tunnel Suite doesn't exist for the Mac, but the general method of "tunnel"-connecting through the USB cable does, says this post. It's called iPhone Tunnel.

On OSX, just like on Windows, you don't need the whole Suite to get the benefits of the Tunnel. After turning Tunnel on, you make a regular SSH or SFTP connection, using the programs you always use (Fugu, Cyberduck, terminal, ...) -- but you connect not to your phone's WiFi IP address but to 127.0.0.1 (still on port 22) on port 9876.

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).
