Default recovering files prior to restore

My iPhone 3G got bricked, Im stuck at the apple logo.

Is there a way to salvage my files on the iPhone before restoring? Is it possible to browse the filesystem from Recovery mode? SSH in DFU mode? Restore the iPhone without loosing data? Somehow force-boot into springboard?

I googled and found the following relevant tools:

irecovery (autoboot enabled, still doesn't reboot)
    OpeniBoot
    ibooter
    idemocracy
    iNdependance
    iLiberty
    iphuc
    ibrickr
    iplus
    ziphone

Could any of these tools or any other solve my problem?

Maybe of these are ''abandon''ware and only support old FWs. But if needed I could downgrade. If there is a way, I really hope someone here knows of it, I've got some very important files to me on there

    (iPhone 3G, 3.0.1 FW, S/N xx911[...], jailbroken, windows OS)
