Pwnage 2.0.3.1/iTunes/Apps Probs
I dont know if anyone else is having these issues, hopefully someone may be able to shed some light...First off when restoring to custom firmware 2.0.2 from 2.0.1 using Pwnage on an already Pwned iPhone, things go fine until the iPhone shows back up in itunes ready to be named, here itunes used to ask me if I wanted to set up as new or from back up..well its not asking me anymore. Also this is the second restore in a week as all my music disappeared from the iphone but was still showing as loaded in itunes, and finally the mobile installation file(k) going around,is this compatible with this firmware, the reason I ask is that with minimal investigating it seems when it was installed with cracked apps all my free legit apps would not load, just crash straight to springboard.after this new fresh restore and without the mobile installation file(k) on the iphone all the free legit apps work perfectly....coincedence,luck who knows..anyone any ideas on any of these issues.
Update:- Preliminary investigations whereby I do another restore and slowly add everything back onto the iphone leads me to believe that installing Winterboard from Cydia created my problems.Everything went fine, installing music, installing free apps, installing patch file, installing cracked apps.Everything opened and worked as it should and I checked it again and again as I was putting stuff on the iphone. As soon as winterboard went on and the installation ends itself with respring, then I had trouble..all locking sounds and keyboard sounds were gone..OK I know how to fix that one by turning off and on by the red slider.Upon reboot I checked my music and it was gone so I checked the free apps and they would crash straight to springboard.I can only assume from this that it was winterboard that caused it because it all worked before it went on.I shall keep watching every day and see what happens but I will not be installing winterboard this time round....as for the itunes not asking me how to set up the phone new/back up,I think maybe this is because I disabled back ups when connecting the iphone to itunes a while back so there probably aren't any back ups saved so it maybe knows not to ask this question.

I opted to restore and set up as a new iPhone instead of using a backup.
It is always better to have a fresh firmware.
Also, for an unknown reason, my backup was outdates by 10 days, that was
strange cause the iPhone was backed up that morning before the restore.

Aye. I agree with JSN1. Also, after installing Winterboard I reboot the phone straight away. I have had problems in the past with it, but so far so good after a reboot...

People you're not reading it right....I did set up as new iphone because nothing went on until I put it on there, it did not load anything on the iphone from a back up as there were no back ups and itunes did not ask me this question and I explained this in my update to my first post as to why this might be.as for rebooting straight after installing winterboard, well this is what I did,but first, to return to cydia after installing winterboard you have no choice but to go through a soft respring. Then you can do a reboot, this is what I did and was more or less forced into it as the soft respring wiped out all my slider/locking sounds.Upon reboot my music data was gone and the free apps start crashing.....its been a few days now since my last restore and suffice to say everything is working as it should but I have not installed winterboard.

Having just upgraded to 2.0.2 using Pwnage 2.0.3.1 I can confirm I too am having the same problems as the OP. Any free apps from the appstore crashes immediately to the springboard when started. Note: I do not have winterboard installed, and I did set the phone up a new phone instead of from a backup. The free app crashes even with a fresh restore using custom firmware generated by Pwnage.

Update:
I tried a DFU restore and using Pwnage 2.0.3.1 to create custom firmwares using 2.0.2, 2.0.1, tried partition wiping the iphone...
Each time winterboard WAS NOT installed... iTunes REMOTE was installed from appstore after the clean DFU restore, each time it crashes right after starting it and bounces me back into springboard.
I even tried doing DFU Restore using my old 2.0 custom firmware made using 2.0.2 Pwnage tool back in July. I still get applications from the Appstore bounching me back to spring board immediately after starting them.
I'm not sure what is wrong...

Same here: Apps from App Store crash to Spring Board.
Also, my gmail account is not working, whereas my other two mailaccounts are working.
Updated from 1.1.4 to 2.02 with PWNAGE 2.0.3.1

OK, here's what worked for me:
-sync apps to itunes.
-delete all the app store apps by pressing your finger for more than 3 seconds on the icon.
-resync with itunes
-worked for me!
Gmail still not working.

Download "bosspref" from Cydia and click on "more" (Top right corner). Then click on "fix dir permissions".
