    Default [Problem] Terminal's error message

When I open a Terminal I get the error msg
    Code:
    /bin/mv: try to overwrite `/var/mobile/.profile', overriding mode 0644 (rw-r--r--)?
. After entering 'no' twice (which is probably futile)- I'm back at the normal
    Code:
    User:~/Library mobile$
    .

I think this started after I logged in with 'su' to get somewhere when working with ctorrent. I'm not very well versed with permissions/terminal/ .. I know I probably should be if I think I can mess around in there.

A Google search only turned up 2 references which provided no insight...PLZ HELP!

Does the same thing happen when you connect with a different kind of terminal, e.g. (if you're on Windows) when you make a PuTTY connection to your phone?

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

No, the same thing doesn't occur when I connect with PuTTY - only the internal Terminal.

I suspect I changed the Owner of the '.profile' file...should the Owner be 'Mobile' or 'Root'? There's also a '.profile.tmp' file in /var/mobile/ now...they both have the same Date Modified.

And if you connect with PuTTY as user mobile, i.e. you don't connect to root@192.168.x.x but to mobile@...? That should be equivalent to starting MobileTerminal, so if it doesn't give the same message, maybe something is wrong with the terminal.

    SOLVED (for now)

    via http://code.google.com/p/mobileterminal/wiki/FAQ

i just removed the /var/mobile/.profile and mobileterminal seems to be working now. it contained 3 lines towards the mobilefinder.
