Independence and Cingular SIM Possible?

Will running independence, ie jailbreak and activation, allow me to use my iphone with a regular cingular account for example a prepaid at&t account? Thanks

i used iNdependence to activate with my blackberry ATT SIM, others have used iActivate to do the same with Cingular prepaid. (iActivate appears to be the precursor to iNdependence)
