Is there an app that changes the SMS keyboard from qwerty to phone pad?
This would definitely be more easy to text and the buttons would be bigger

Sure there is a way. Get a regular cell phone. :p
Mine is QWERTZ (German language) and it works fine, I'm not sure I understand you. Are your fingers too big or what is the problem? When getting used to the software keyboard, you can type as fast as on a regular keyboard, the "phone pad" keyboard is crap since you have three or even more letters on one single button. I really don't get your point?!
wow...well if you havent notice, people prefer different things. Not everything you like will necessesary be liked by everyone else.
I guess asking questions in this board is very critical, because of some worthless answers given by worthless germans! Go screw with your iphone since you probably spent your whole life savings for the phone..ha!
awsmori does have a valid point. After browsing these forums a lot over the last few weeks it is obvious that 997TT is quite critical of some questions.
n. pl. fo·rums - A public meeting place for open discussion.
People should be able to ask whatever they want without worrying about what other users will say, especially senior ones.
finally someone who understands!
im sure im not the only one who gets pissed whenever you have a simple question and some wiseguys comes in and thrashes you. It is just so upsetting.
But to make it clear...i am in no way bashing all germans just the worthless ones like 997TT, so matt68 i apologize if i have offended you in any way. Still 997TT your worthless!
Yes there is!
But it only runs on 1.1.1
I haven't try using it on 1.1.2
I basically do some mod of your iphone. Use the Japanese keyboard and enable it for chinese input. It support pinyin and a few other input method.
Once installed, you need to pick the language. It will modify your setting, enable International keyboard and jap keyboard.
The app is in the installer.
ADD source> http://www.iphone.org.hk/repository.plist
you will then find the keyboard mod for 1.1.1
once it's working, it will work on EVERY app. email, sms, notes, map....

thanks for the reply but isnt there anything on english...and the preview doesnt show a keypad of 0-9 as your text input, still shows the qwerty keypad with chinese characters in it
I have thought about the same idea: having a big keypad to use it with the thumb.
I was used to typing in my celphone as I walk, without really looking at the screen. How many times have you been on public transportation with both your hands completely free?? Using the index requires not only to permanently stare at the iphone, but also to be completely still in order not to make too many mistakes.
However, not having the natural shape of the keys will make it a lot harder to memorize where to go with the thumb.
