[Phonebook] How to Export from Iphone to PC

Hi Guys,

I am using iphone 1.1.4 with ziphone, about to resore system one more time, i don't want to back my settings, only want to take phonebook, becuase want todo in itunes new iphone. becuase before i used 1.1.1 after when i did, restore to 1.1.4, i restored 1.1. 1 settings to 1.1.4, now some problem emerged. So how to export my phone book from iPhone?

Hi

it's very simple .you just have to use Itunes
1 make a synchronization
2 use the Windows Adress Book (WAB) :

type Wab in the start, run

PS: be carrefull the synchronization is be directional !

or you could start a yahoo/gmail account and sync contacts to them

@n350z - wait, what? You can sync contats directly to google? I swear I've looked everywhere and the best I could find was funambol.

How to do directional synchronization in itunes ! when i am selected option, itunes offer two options "Merge Info" and replace info? what i must do?

After facing many problems with iTunes deleting all my contacts, i stopped syncing before doing a manual backup which i think is the nest way to be on the safe side:

go to /var/root/library/AddressBook
backup the files "contactssqllite.db" and "contactpicturessqllite.db"

to do a restore just copy the files back and restart iPhone

I am have 1,1,2 i guess on 1.1.4 the path might have changed but just search for the files and i am sure you will be able to find them. Also make sure after you restore the files to iPhone, you should set the permission correctly as they were (having the files on windows might change the permissions)

Still i can't export my contacts to PC

I use Funambol Native App
And on PC, I use Outlook plug-in to sync with it !

Works like a charm

If you back up to your 1.1.4, the location will be in var/mobile/library/
Everything is the same, just the location has been change..

I have backup my 1.1.1 to my 16gb 1.1.4 just transfer the files by winscp.
Ones i have restart the 1.1.4, it has whatever I have backup from my 1.1.1

Try it..it works!

Anyone knows when you change the location of the phone number (I mean the thing where it says home, work, other) and you add your own for example vip or something, when I synchronise it never saves that it always changes it to other or hom or work. How can I make it save that with outlook, or funambol, or anything...
