Default [permission] change to 777 for specific app

How do i change the permission for a specific application?

The reason for this is that some of my apps are not saving so i think to solve this i need to change the permission to 777 but if i change the whole application folder this will mess installer up.

But why do people make it 777 when all other apps use 755 ??? Now we must think is it 777 or 755...It is stupid !

Dam, I'm trying to get my to do list to save data, also my customize does not work, Few people on this forum told me that i will have to change the apps to 777,

    Tried it...... nothing.

If i change any app folder to 777 for some reason none of my apps work at all, they just lock up when opened.

Just to make sure, I am editing the right apps folder, its the one straight on the iphone drive, called applications?

Got no idea what's going on here, my lock box does not save, neither does todolist and customize does not work at all, it loads, looks like its working but none of the changes apply.
