PDAnet 1.40 expired!
For those of you who do not know, PDAnet 1.40 will eventually expire if it already has not. You must purchase the program for $29 or you are limited to http traffic only. A work around is to downgrade to 1.33.
Download from
http://modmyi.com/repo/2debs/pdanet1.33.deb
"Then, SSH that into your phone and drop pdanet1.33.deb into /var/root/.
Using MobileTerminal or putty,
type in "su," then type in your password, which is "alpine" by default.
Then type in the command dpkg -i /var/root/pdanet1.33.deb. Wait for it to get done.
Then restart/respring your phone"
Quoted from user neworder from another forum.
I've done this and it works great.

Absolutely ridiculous. If I controlled the MMi repo they would be delisted yesterday. I don't care how good you think your app is, you don't go "surprise, app disabled, pay me X amount of dollars to continue".
The fact that that X amount of dollars happens to be 30 really does nothing to sweeten the deal either.

I totally agree. It's the lack of disclosure that's pissing everyone off. It's one thing to say, hey, it's free to use our betas but you'll have to pay $29 to use our commercial release. Another thing all together to one day have a pop up in your app saying, by the way, your trial (no, we didn't tell you it's a trial) has expired. You are now limited to http unless you pay us $29.
Not to mention compatibility issues with 2.2 which they do not know if they can fix.
And who knows if Apple will target unsanctioned tethering somehow once carriers start offering (and charging extra) tethering capability. Don't waste your money. Downgrade to 1.33
