Default Nothing Showing Up in Media Folder on WinSCP

Hey, so I've been trying to recover my music off of my phone because I got a new computer. I've tried several programs saying they could save the files off of my phone onto my computer, but have had no success. So I decided to SSH using WinSCP however there is nothing in the media folder. I'm assuming the contents are hidden (I have show hidden files on in my computer). Is there a way to find the contents of the media folder, or do you know any free programs that can help me get my music off the phone and onto the computer? All help is appreciated

Firstly, don't bump after an hour or two, be patient.

So can you still play your music on your iPhone?

You are better off using a program that ues the AFC2 service (which you won't have installed if you jailbroke using blackra1n and will need to install this manually from Cydia).

Accessing the iPhone via AFC2 service is faster and there are programs out there that can parse the iTunes library database file to allow you to select and restore the music you want by Artist, album and song name.

I use Ecamm Network: PhoneView - iPhone Disk Mode, Save SMS/MMS, Contacts, Call History but that is mac only, there is likely something with similar functionality for Windows.

If you really want to go the hard way. The music is located at /private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music" on your iPhone.

No, it still plays fine. I just want to take the files off and save them onto my computer (it runs on Windows 7 so I can't use that program you reccomended.) I know where the music is located, however when I ssh the iTunes_Control folder is missing or hidden, so I can't get my music

I knew you were runnung windows. As I said, there is likely plenty of software for windows to offer the same functionality. A two second google found this program for example. TuneAid - Transfer your iPod Music & Videos to your Computer (PC Windows & Mac OSX), iPhone & iPod Touch compatibility. Yes these programs are not free but the ability to read the iPhone database is very valuable in the recovery process.

You will experience slower copy performance via winscp than via USB, even if you just copy the files using an AFC2 client like the the free iPhone Browser (which does work on windows 7, I have used it)
Downloads - iphonebrowser - Project Hosting on Google Code

If you simply recover the raw files, you end up with an unmanageable mess if you just recover the file names. If you are lucky, you can import them into iTunes and let it sort them out and rename them.
