New To unlocking - how does this sound?
I have unlocked some phones for some friends and I with a 100% success rate
I use OsX on a Mac Pro. The unlock method i have used is as follows
Independance - jailbreak, activate
Apptapp - Community Sources, BSD, SSH
Cyperduck, add UNLOCK, replace LOCKDOWND
and finally flash the firmware using the 'UNLOCK APP'.
This has worked fine, but it was the first method I have come across.
my questions for the more experienced 'unlocker' are as follows.
1. should I be using this method?
2. are there disadvantages to this method?
3. can i activate YouTube using this method?
4. Is there anything else I should be aware of?
Any help would be of great benefit....

Doubling up some steps there.
Take your iPhone out of the box (or after doing a complete restore)
Download this (from **********) http://**********.com/files/54783302…cript.zip.html and decompress to your home directory.
Download AppTap installer form nullriver (apptapp will jailbreak but you will still be on the activation screen on the phone but the app will be on your form.
Double click on the AppTapp Installer to install the Installer.app
open the folder ~/youtubescript and double click on Install youtube.term
Apptapp jailbreaks and the /youtubescript does the activation, lockdown and you tube in one go..
Reboot phone.
Use Apptapp on phone- Community Sources, BSD, SSH
Cyperduck, add UNLOCK
and finally flash the firmware using the 'UNLOCK APP'

...and this method can be used on a pre 1.1.1 phone without having to upgrade to 1.1.1 in iTunes right?
thanks
