    Default [MobileMe] Sync question.

I have got a 1 year MobileMe subscription and after Pwning my iPhone yesterday, I decided to setup MobileMe finally on the iPhone. However, after selecting it from Mail options, its says "Your current contacts and calendar will be erased...".
I got MobileMe so that I can backup by Contacts and Calendar NOT erase them !!!

How do I upload my contacts to MobileMe and sync them without erasing them.....?

When you are setting up MobileMe on your iPhone, when it is telling you that it is erasing your current contacts and calendar, it meant erasing them from your iPhone (not MobileMe). If your iPhone's Contacts/Calendar contain items not on MobileMe, you may want to do the normal sync between your iPhone and your Mac first using iTunes, then sync your Mac with MobileMe.

When you have done that, set up MobileMe on your iPhone. It will erase your Contacts/Calendar on your iPhone and then sync them up from the MobileMe server.

    Cool info!

I am currently using the two month trial but it takes quite a while to log in and see all my folders etc when using it online.

Anybody else feel its really slow compared to say Yahoo mail? I really want to use this but feel it is a bit too slow and the IE compatibility is dire - this is real important to me when im away on business and using other peoples computers (mainly PCs )

Well, I used to find it slower before, but now its as fast as GMail or Yahoo. So, I guess it was a server issue at Apple. I guess it should work as fast now.....

Apple has a pretty good tutorial on how to. for the mac check here
    http://www.apple.com/mobileme/setup/mac/

after that (your contacts, iCal etc) everything is synced and on apples server.

    then check here
    http://www.apple.com/mobileme/setup/iphone/mac.html

For Windows user there are tutorials aswell
    http://www.apple.com/mobileme/setup/

I stepped into the gap cause I usually never read manuals. Was lucky cause I always backup adresses etc. restored back, followed the tutorial and everything works as expected.

    hope that helps
