Question Messenger capable MSN / Skype

    Hello guys & girls,

I decided to ask this question after having searched the forums for quite a while.

I kept looking for any messenger-like software for the iPhone 2.0 firmware like Fring, Agile Messenger and similar but did not find anything.

Is there already a messenger other than AIM? I'd really like to sign in with my live messenger account so please, if there is any hint, post it

Thanks in advance and best regards from Switzerland

    Thomas

at the moment AIM is the only one out there. You just have to till the old programs have been re-compiled to work on FW 2.0
    Pwned FW 2.2.1 on 2G / 3G

    Thanks for you reply.

I knew there has to be done some recompilation. But I thought that maybe there's a tool I didn't know about. So let's wait then.

    Regards

There is BeeJive messenger with Yahoo,MSN,GMail and Jabber support. Its a webapp. You can add it to the home-screen. I dont think you need a native app as it anyways needs internet for connecting....

    Hope it helps...

Apple doesn't allow devs to run a process in the background. So even if there are messengers on the appstore you'll have to keep it open all the time and cannot use anything else.

That's not right...agile messenger can run in the background.
    I tested it myself...

I started agile messenger, connected and then clicked the home button, few minutes later my iphone made a sound, i opened the agile messenger and there was a message.
