Default jailbreak keeps crashing - frustrating...

    Hello everyone,

I finally got a new 4GB iPhone and I'm trying to jailbreak it with iBrickr. Everything works until jailbreak starts, at which point it crashes with the typical windows error.

I tried launching jailbreak by itself from the command line but it also fails (right after it displays the message "s_Sending boot files").

Note that my iPhone firmware is 1.0.2.

    Any ideas???

    It's iTunes 7.4

    Here's the trick:

Find someone who hasn't upgraded to iTunes 7.4
Have them email you the MobileDevice.framework folder
Replace that folder by deleting the old one, then copying over the other one so at the end you have a iTunes 7.3.2 MobileDevice.framework folder working with iTunes 7.4
Then re-run all your apps, unlock, and other stuff as if you are still using 7.3.2

    Spook75,

Thanks for the info. My problem is that I'm using Windows XP and I don't think the MobileDevice.framework is in Windows (I tried googling around for some time).

    Any other suggestions?

    Two choices.....
    1. Instead of MobileDevice.framework it's iTunesMobileDevice.dll on Windows, so find a copy from iTunes 7.3 and put it wherever iBirckr is looking for it (same directory if it is the one I used when it first came out).

    2. Download iphucwin32 from google code (http://code.google.com/p/iphucwin32/) and use it to jailbreak, it has been updated to support both iTunes 7.3 and iTunes 7.4.1. I think after that iBrickr should work since it should just use com.apple.acf2 to access the iPhone.

iphucwin32 doesn't support iTunes 7.4.0 because I missed that update (it wasn't out very long)

R0m30! I would just like to say that after trying and failing for 2 days to jailbreak my phone with iBrickrn and wInstaller, that your iPHUCwin32 program saved my ass! Thanks so much!
