[iTunes] "Restore from the backup of:" ?
After you complete Pwnage, iTunes gives me a message - "An iPhone has previously been synced with this computer." If i choose "Restore from the backup of:" will this overwrite everything I have done or wil this allow me to sync my music back up.

well he already tested the beta version and found alot of problems, during that his main machine which is Vista (unfortanetly for him) got in a loop reboot status which he started to re-install Vista, and he should get back in couple of hours. Wish this gets soo quick as, i got the 1.20 FW and really really want to Start developing apps over it. - i know am also w8ing for my MacBook Pro to arrive next week - so that i would try the 2.0 Beta till i get the MacBook Pro, if it's unstable like most pple say, i would have to w88 for another release later.

Before upgrading, let iTunes synchronize your address book with some address book on your computer (e.g. Outlook).
After upgrading, do that again -- tell iTunes to "replace contacts on phone" or something.
You'll still lose the pictures associated with your contacts. Alternatively, you could try copying ~/Library/AddressBook before upgrade and putting it back afterwards, but I'm not sure what that would mean for synchronizing afterwards.
iPhone 3GS / 3.1.2 JB (PwnageTool) / 04.26.08 carrier-locked, Carrier Logo Fixer / Cydia / 1000 posts on Hackint0sh
Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.
Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
* on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
* on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

You won't even loose the contact photos as those sync across too. What you will loose is SMSs, email settings, any other customized setting you've setup (standard iphones ones that is) and anything in your camera roll.

I upgraded to 1.1.4 and restored the back up because I didn't want to lose all my SMS. I had no problems at all except the mail app, after changing the permissions everything works fine.
