However, I just get a message saying 'No such file or directory'

this is what I am typing into vt100:

    'rm -R /var/root/Media'

    Is that definitely correct?

Mmmm, one other thought, I have noticed installer has a 'SyncFix (Dev 1.1.3 Jailbreak)' - would this be applicable if I have used Ziphone 2.0 to unlock and jailbreak my iphone?

    OK try

'cd /var/root/Media' to move to the correct directory
    then
'pwd' to confirm you are in the directory above
    then
'rm -R .' to remove everything from this directory and below so take care you're in the correct directory

Right, did that and the following came up...

    usage: rm [-f | -i] [-dPRrvW] file...
    unlink file

Is that right? Thanks for the help...

Also if I try 'rm -R .' (with that full stop/period at the end) I get...

rm: "." and ".." may not be removed

ive solved this problem without restoring through itunes. Basically it started when i uploaded music via iphonesuite and itunes cannot read my iphone content. what i do is i used finder to go to this directory

    root/var/media
and i just remove the folder itunes folder
    afterwards itunes can sync back
i let itunes now handle my music

Default "itunes cannot read the contents of the iphone"

    Hi,

Few months later, but I have the same problem now.

"itunes cannot read the contents of the iphone"

However, I am new at this so can someone please tell me how to access this Media folder and delete it?
Should I use Cyberduck for this? I am on a MBP and 1.1.4 on the iphone. How can I use the command line? Is it through Terminal?

    Please help.

Default itunes cannot read the contents of iphone

i also had this problem after upgrading to itunes 9 and read many forum discussions, but wasn't happy to restore or reset any data on my iphone. i simply re-installed itunes 9 and tried to sync again. This worked! I recommend this method rather than reset option.
