Just wanted to know if there is any hack around that gives the option to use an ipod video cable with the Iphone. I know that apple is trying to sell us their cable, but 50 buck for a piece of plastic and wire is too much for me.

Not at the moment , Apple have included a smart chip to stop you using a normal cable.

I understand that Apple block video out if a chip is not found. But it's a software block where a process check this chip and does not authorize video out if missing. The hack could be made in 2 ways:

1- foul the verification process and let it think the chip is present.

2- or replace the process by one that doesn't check for this chip.

If people have been able to foul and modify the baseband this one could be easy.
