Default iPhone development: Read an write files without jailbreak

    Hello
I'm developer from shareware application. I want now integrate iPhone features. For this, I need access to filesystem to copy .db file, merge this SQLight file with app data and then put this file back to iPhone.
It's no problem with jailbreak but don't want this do on iPhones from my customers and of course, jailbreak is GPL...

Can I write and read files with MobileInterface Framework (MobileInterface.h)? It's very complex MobileInterface ;-)

I'm wondering how iToner the sounds write....

    Any tips?

    Best regards

From http://www.oreillynet.com/mac/blog/2...rington_1.html, ringtones can be put inside /var/root/Library/Ringtones instead of /Library/Ringtones. Access to /var/root/ does not require jailbreak.

By default, you can read and write files from/to the /var/root/ directory on the iPhone. So when you write a file to /myfile, it will be written to /var/root/myfile. Consider /var/root/ to be the home directory of the default user (root) of the iPhone. This is where music files are stored.

Jailbreak simply allows you to read and write files from/to all areas of the phone filesystem. However, if you only need to store files on the phone, you can do it without that.

Be aware however that MobileDevice is a private Apple framework and has not been released for public use. So the functions within it could change at any time (and there's no good documentation other than the MobileDevice.h file).
