Somehow, without my doing, my iTunes is now 7.4.1 (2).

iNdependence says it's an unsupported version of iTunes. What do I do now?

Try the special build of iNdependence at the bottom of this page and report what the error window says:

    http://code.google.com/p/independenc...es/detail?id=3

I'm still trying to track this problem down...

Server is the IP address of your phone (see my earlier post for how to find this). For the user name and password, check the README file.

Another question - when I launch independence it says the phone is jailbroken but it is not activated?? The phone is activated otherwise I wouldn' be able to install all these apps - isn't that right??

Did you not download a .dmg file which contained iNdependence? In that same .dmg is the README file. If you downloaded it from some other source, then I can't help you. Always get it from:

    http://code.google.com/p/independence/

It is possible to jailbreak your phone without activating it. However, if it wasn't activated, then you wouldn't be able to do anything with your phone.

I noticed that I had a problem where it said my phone wasn't activated after I performed the software SIM unlock (even though I had already activated it). The reason is because the SIM unlock process writes over some information on the phone. I needed to activate my phone again to clear out the bad information the SIM unlock process had written to my phone.

Perhaps it's the same for you?

Okay - I tried to put the UNLOCK app in the Applications and I get a message saying -
"Could not create folder named "Unlock.app".

    Permission denied.
