I don't speak for The Operator, but...

1.1 was a feature enhancement, which coincidentally occurred around the same time as the iTunes 7.4 release

1.1.1 is a fix to the iTunes 7.4 problem

Congrats to The Operator...you reacted very quickly to this problem. As of this moment, iNdependence v1.1.1 is the only thing newbies should be using to jailbreak or activate their iPhone features.

Right, I released 1.1 this morning without realizing that iTunes 7.4 had been released around the same time.

Then when all the panic happened around iTunes 7.4 and jailbreak (using any program), I moved quickly to get a new version out before too many people were affected. So 1.1.1 is simply a bugfix release to work with iTunes 7.4 (don't use any previous version of iNdependence or iActivator with iTunes 7.4).

And I'm able to move quicker than others because I don't rely on external tools for any of the functionality in iNdependence.

    >>>Don't be alarmed by the text which streams down the screen on your iPhone

    KEEP THAT !!!
I perform an activation for a beautifull girl and i was looking at the screen, making like if i was understanding all of that text, doing sound like "Hmmmm" like if i was interpreting it. At the end, she said " Wow ! You understand all that !! " so i answer " Well, you know, it takes what it takes to hack into all these line of code written by zillions of Apple engeneers..."

I looked like a genius. Thanks. But keep it !

I seemed to have troubles when trying to add wallpapers/ringtones. I would select the png files but they would not add themselves to the list.

Does the iPhone work with independence 1.1.1 in combination with iTunes 7.4 when you jailbreaked your iPhone with old versions of both?

I just realized a major flaw in the wallpaper upload process. Basically, your wallpaper files need to be labeled as follows:

    filename.png
    filename.thumbnail.png

For filename.png to show up in your list (and for the iPhone to use them correctly).

Unfortunately, my file chooser doesn't enforce this naming scheme and will let you update whatever you like for the thumbnail file. This could lead to unusable wallpaper files (I'm not sure how the iPhone treats mismatched filenames).

I know that iNdependence won't show wallpaper files unless both PNG files exist with the correct naming scheme.

Sorry about this. I'll write it up as a known issue.

There is itunes 7.4.1 out, does independence 1.1.1 work with that or only 7.4?
    Thanks

couple of questions. Wallpaper .png thmbnails - what size dot hey need to be?

Also, I activated with iNdependence (brilliant!) with firmware 1.0 - can I now just hook up the phone to a computer and allow itunes 7.4 to open. It won't brick it will it?

Can I update the firmware to 1.0.2 with out problems?

    thanks

If you update to firmware 1.0.2 and you are using iTunes 7.4, you will need to use iNdepedance 1.1 not 1.0 otherwise you might put it in an endless reboot loop.
