ihound™ Software works on most USB devices that you need to connect to your computer to update. i.e. MP3 players, Flash Cards, Jump Drives, Phones, iPods.
I wonder how their software works ?

Sounds like a scam to me...

I came across it on my local tv news channel. It supposadly uses itunes to track where the device is and gathers all pertinant data regarding it. I figured it was free so it may be worth a look.

    P.S.

I knew after I posted this I made an error. Sorry for the misplaced thread.

I am not sure. Its my understanding that you must register each device. I am guessing the serial number or in the case of the iPhone the IMEI. I am only speculating however.

It looks as if iPhones are not suported.

    Thumbs down GadgetTrak Copy?

It actually looks like a crappy imitation of GadgetTrak:

I read in a forum a while ago that there is some legal issues related to GadgetTrak's patent and what this guy is doing. One thing was also mentioned is that the iHound site is hosted on a shared hosting account, no address for the business, no SSL for the form when you register and no encryption of the information between the comptuer and the server, pretty sketchy if you ask me. The GadgetTrak site looks more legit, at least they are an established company, have been around a while and have some big names using their software, with support as well as a patent, looking at the technical specs they also encrypt the data as well as get around firewalls. Also on the site they have software for laptops and cell phones.

The ihound guy just looks like he is trying to copy it. I saw the video clip on TV as well and to be honest the guy looks like a douche. Nothing is free and who knows what that guy is doing to your computer when you run that software.
