    i tried using the GUID with version 2.23. It hasnt started working yet. This may have to do with my GUID. I tried using the mac method posted, but it returned a 14 digit number instead of the 16 digit code. Any ideas how i can find the 16 digit code?

    @Treb
    Success!!! Thanks! MNPLight 2.24 works like a champ on my iPod Touch 1.1.2. One thing to note, the page on the Ubuntu forum has changed. It doesn't show how to get the firewire guid anymore.

    @mjross
    I did this in linux but I believe you can use the same command to get the firewire guid
    lsusb -v | grep -i Serial

    The iPod Touch must be plugged in.

    Cheers.

    Thanks for the tip. I'll try it out. I just wish there was a way to find it from the touch directly. (I don't have a computer) I should clarify. It included the 0x which technically is 16 digits, but I can't enter that in twice, and once doesn't work either.

    @pwatterson: thanks for the feedback !

    @mjrossi: I don't know how to get it directly from the iPod. I saw a method, but it required issuing direct hardware calls to the disk drive to get a special hidden "SysInfo" file... If anyone can comment on this and provide an implementable solution, I would be glad !

    hi

    The importing of mail-attachements does not work for me.
    The list of emails shows many mails I have already deleted, also after update the list. I don't know why these mails are shown.

    And scanning Mails does not recognize all files: I tried to import a file named "outlook-contacts.csv" (94 kB), but the attachment-scanner of MNPlight said, there is no attachment in this mail.
    Another file, a picture with ~20kB, is recognize correct by the scanner.

    bye

    Couldn't update to 2.25. Got a 'main script execution failed' message from installer app. Is this on my phone or has any one else had this?

    @mjrossi: You should use the refresh button of Installer -> Sources, and then try to update again. There was a mistake in the installation script.

    @olaf123: MNPlight scans a directory containing mails that have been downloaded because they were too big to fit in the database. So, it seems sometimes MobileMail forgets to remove these mails when you have deleted them (well, they might still appear in your Deleted mailbox, no ?). For your outlook-contacts.csv file, you might send me the content of the mail (the .emlx file on your iPhone), so that I test it. Now, you can just navigate to the mail directory and use the "send file by mail" function of MNPlight on the problematic file ;-)

    I had to restore. Do you think it was an issue with theincorrect installation script? After I first tried to update, it never completed or installed, but my GUID was in mnplight. I tried to update later, and it worked, but then my iPod crashed. Just curious if anyone has an idea why so I can avoid this next time I install. Not sure if this was any part of why it crashed, it might have been the expanded settings app.

    Also, for a few hours before it crashed, I was able to sync without itunes. The dream became real, Treb, you're a genius. Best app so far from anyone.

    I tried to install this software using PXL file downloadded herehttp://movenplay.gforge.inria.fr/STABLE/arm/

    but after downloading "MNPlight-2.25.PXL" file suprisingly the saved file was in zip format and after unzip it was MNPlight.app and MNP.webplugin for manual install. Could the author fix this for people use pxl for installing programs.
