    No and yes ;-)

Not now, because my first goal is to exchange between the iPhone and my linux box, but soon, I will probably work on that. It will require the presence of some software running on your computer to interact with, but it will be the same on Linux/Mac OS X/Windows...

Yes, it now covers "mobile" numbers.

I am blown away. Why make it complicated (iTunes, iSync, Outlook etc.), when it can be simple as this? I will try think about nice features.

    Thanks again!

Videos would be nice, but I have none of them on my iPhone (and no iTunes at home...). If you have some (not from podcasts, but added manually in iTunes), send me (treb@lefessant.net) your /private/var/root/Media/iTunes_Control/iTunes/iTunesDB file, and I might be able to understand how to include them directly...

    Version 2.04 is available on:

    http://movenplay.gforge.inria.fr/

It allows you to add, modify and delete playlists directly on your iPhone, wherever you are, without being connected to iTunes. You can save On-The-Go as another playlist, or load a playlist in On-The-Go for modification. Yet another step to get rid of iTunes !
    Bug fixes:
    * option -ipod does not add a song if it has already been added
    * option -ipod does not clear On-The-Go everytime as before

    Thumbs up

    Hey Treb,

good to see that there is regular progress on the program.

    Just wanted to know:
Are you working on a calendar EXport, too (e.g. to .ics)?
IMHO, that's a major feature as people normally will add/edit events while "on the go" and obviously "syncing" should be a two-way street not only for address books ;-)
In know that ics is implemented slightly different for each application (at least i know of differences between evolution and kontact), but those are only small, as far as i know.

BTW: Do you plan to make this open source (as this would probably attract more people and allow for faster feature integration)? Personally, I would like to help in any way and try implementing stuff, but it would be great if I could build up on your work. Or did I miss the link to a repository or s.th.??

    Keep it up!

    Hi there,

I indeed plan to have import/export both ways, but I'm not yet completely sure of the way to do it. I first need to rewrite the ics file manipulation, the parser I used is too complex, suffers some bugs (I already got a bug report...) and is not very useful for exporting calendars.

For the GUI, I'm now working on a simpler approach, which is an http server inside the program. It is not always as good as a native interface, but it could be used to access remotely the iPhone.

Finally, I'm a partisan of open-source, but unfortunately for this program, I have done it for my company, Move&Play, and they don't plan to release it as open-source right now. It might change in the future, but it is much too early for that. Moreover, it is written in a strange language (Objective-Caml), so I don't think many people will be able to contribute immediatly. Anyway, my CEO is reading this thread, so I must be very careful... ;-)

    - Treb
