Default How to edit sms.db of 1.1.4?

My SMS.db has been corrupted by me trying to use SMSd on 1.1.3-firmware. Since then, one message that has been deleted is still marked as unread. So on every springboard reset, SMS icon shows one unread message.

I would like to fix this problem without losing all my saved messages. I already managed to open sms.db into various sqlite-editors, but whenever I try to delete the row containing the message or edit the value containing '1' unread in the specific group, I keep getting the same error "no such function: read". It doesn't matter which SQL-Program I use.

Does anybody know how to fix this or how to not only view but edit the sms.db file?
    Thanks,
    Sebastian

The easy way is to simply delete the sms.db and reboot. A new empty db will be created. For more information on how to edit the db, see this http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26994 thread.

    I have a similar issue.

I however used iSMS instead and I have a constant new SMS notification everytime the springboard resets. Going into the SMS app removes the notification but everytime I enter the sms app, it always takes me to that certain conversation that it thinks is new.

Deleting the entire conversation "cures" the problem (I'm sure deleting a single SMS would be adequate enough but I'm reluctant to reinstall iSMS) but I do not want to delete the messages from that certain individual.

Any help or fix suggested? (I really do not want to delve into any SQL)

So I delved into some SQL (wasn't too deep).

    See the resolution:
