Thumbs up Alternative mode to see Hidden apps added from Cydia

    • install some other applications that have icons, to see if you have more luck with them
    • install SBSettings, restart SpringBoard, start it (by swiping over the status bar), and tap "More" to see if the missing icon needs to be unhidden
    • (more radical) delete /User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist (after making a backup of it), turn the phone off and on again, and see if the icon appears.

Maybe none of these will work (this problem has occurred before) and maybe restoring is the only answer...

On the positive side, since you have installed OpenSSH, you can now SSH into your phone using iPhone Tunnel Suite and the USB cable. Once you're in the system, you can solve all kinds of problems more easily.
    Hey.. New one...

What I do is... add one app to cydia throught iPhone Browser.. and then.. remove the program from cydia.. so the Springboard has restarted!! After this.. the icons should be appear!
    This one works for me!

Or if /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall/ already exists, just drop the .deb files in there."). more to the point: i don't know how to navigate and place files onto my iphone. help needed please, thanks!

This thread is essentially for 2G iPhones - bootneuter will simply not work on a 3g - at worst it could permanently brick your 3G

You are asking about MobileTerminal - this hasn't been non-beta for a long time. If you really want to install it the instructions provided in this thread will work - if any of the directories are missing - simply create them. There are many tools that can browse the iPhone's filesystem over USB. Some examples are DiskAid, iPhoneBrowser, iFunbox, iFuntastic etc. If you jailbroke with blackra1n or spirit then you have a problem. These jailbreak tools do not add the required tweak to allow viewing the iphone's whole filesystem over USB. Use redsn0w (or pwnagetool) to jailbreak instead. Then copy the deb into place and let your iPhone boot up fully before restarting it. Do this twice. As long as Cydia was already installed any valid deb files in AutoInstall will be installed.

The other question is why don't you have wifi - did you use blacksn0w to unlock?

Olethros, thank you for your help. i couldn't find an application to browse the files on my ipod. i haven't had wifi since the update that caused it to go gray (settings or settings>general>network... both of the places where wifi is mentioned it is totally greyed-out). to jailbreak it i used redsn0w.

I mentioned some AFC2 apps earlier for both windows and macOS. For example http://www.i-funbox.com/ for windows. Try this, it will work.
