Yes. installed EU first, then added to the PATH. Then shut down and restarted iPhone. echo $PATH confirms addition of /var/root/bin. Bottomline? VNotes nowhere to be found.

I also uninstalled EU and confirmed var/root/bin had been added to the PATH. I then reinstalled EU. echo $PATH confirms addition of /var/root/bin. Shut down/restart iPhone. Results? VNotes nowhere to be found.

If VNotes is NOT supposed to appear as an icon on the home menu, I wish someone would tell me that. And where exactly IS VNotes supposed to show up if it's been successfully installed?

    Thanks.

I would do an uninstall of VNotes and then re-install it, see if that does it, but leave Utilities as is

That did it! Thanks to you and to everyone who now has me up and running.

One last newbie question. When I'm finished in Terminal, do I need to type some kind of a close-terminal command or can I just quit Terminal?

    glad you are sorted.

when you press the home button it kills the shell season so no you dont really have to do anything.

if you want to be 'tidy' you could type 'exit' first :-)
